Our Kaiako

Children might remember the muddy puddles, the climbing trees and the beach adventures. Parents remember the people who made them feel safe, known and excited to come back tomorrow.

This is the team behind every adventure.

  • Mika

    Centre Owner

As a mum of two young children myself, I know exactly how big this decision is. Our team of kaiako is one I'd trust with my own children without hesitation, and that's not something I say lightly. I love our forest philosophy, and I love watching it come to life every day. Above all, I want to build a culture where our staff, children and families all feel supported and like they belong.

  • Marta

CENTRE TEAM LEADER & UNDER 2s KAIAKO

Marta is a highly experienced educator who has led teams across a range of early childhood centres - but Muddy Toes is where she has truly found her place. She has been part of the centre since the beginning and is proud to lead a team whose forest philosophy she believes in wholeheartedly. Outside work, Marta is a mum of two who loves nature, photography, hiking and camping with her family.

  • Anya

    KAIAKO - Over 2s

Anya is happiest getting children out into the world, whether that’s through an excursion, outdoor play or a new challenge. She encourages children to explore, take supported risks and build confidence through real experiences. Outside of work, Anya is a mum of two boys who enjoys walking, playing netball, cooking and baking.

  • Christine

    KAIAKO - Over 2s

Christine brings extensive experience in our forest philosophy and a strong belief in children’s capability. She is skilled in helping children become confident, independent and resilient. Outside of work, Christine enjoys singing in choir and performing in musical theatre.

  • Kerry

    KAIAKO - All ages

Kerry has the privilege of working across all age groups at Muddy Toes. A warm, patient and sport-loving mum of two, she believes children learn best through strong relationships, child-led play and meaningful connection with nature.

  • Rosie

    KAIAKO - Under 2s

Rosie has an incredible ability to connect with our youngest tamariki, offering gentle, respectful care that helps them feel safe, secure and deeply understood. Originally from Mexico and raised in Southern California, she is also a proud cat mum to Rocket.

  • Sam

    KAIAKO - Under 2s

Sam is a patient, relationship-focused teacher who connects beautifully with children of all ages, particularly infants. She has a real strength in helping new children settle in and feel safe, secure and at home.

  • Tania

    KAIAKO - Over 2s

Tania is a highly experienced educator with a real strength in planning thoughtful, meaningful learning experiences. She values confidence, independence and kindness, both in her home life and her work with tamariki.

  • Tracy

    KAIAKO - Over 2s

Tracy is an experienced early childhood teacher who values gentle, responsive care and meaningful relationships with children and whānau. She enjoys creating sensory-rich learning experiences and believes even our youngest tamariki should have opportunities to connect with nature. Outside work, Tracy is a mum who enjoys walking, reading, music and exploring New Zealand with her family.
